Studio 4
This project involved creating a detailed 3D model and lighting plot for Studio 4 to support my work as Lighting Director for the production TOP VOICES. Due to limited initial information about the space, I conducted a site survey and used the resulting data to build an accurate 3D visualization in Vectorworks, enabling me to design an effective and flexible lighting plan.

Project Overview
t the start of this project, I joined the production team of TOP VOICES as their Lighting Director. Initially, I was provided with very little information about Studio 4—the venue where the event would take place—which presented a challenge in developing a lighting design without a clear understanding of the space. In late February 2024, I was given the opportunity to conduct a walkthrough of Studio 4. During this site visit, I gathered essential information including room dimensions, the location of battens, available lighting inventory, and technical specifications. This hands-on preparation was critical to establishing a foundation for the design process. Using the collected data, I immediately began constructing a detailed 3D model of Studio 4 in Vectorworks. This model allowed me to experiment with different lighting approaches and develop a preliminary light plot tailored to the space’s specific features
Role & Responsibilities
Conducting the site survey of Studio 4, gathering technical specifications, building a complete 3D model in Vectorworks, and designing a preliminary lighting plot. I also collaborated with the production team to ensure the lighting design supported the creative vision of TOP VOICES.
Workflow
I began the project by reviewing the limited initial information provided about Studio 4. Once access was granted, I conducted a site walkthrough, taking measurements, documenting battens and lighting positions, and recording available inventory and technical details. Using this information, I built a detailed 3D model in Vectorworks, which I used to design and iterate on a lighting plot. I created several side view versions of the design to refine fixture placement and coverage, ultimately delivering a clear and actionable lighting plan for the production.
